Published paper # 2 Myths, presumptions and facts about Obesity

Basically, what scientist David B Allison said in his article on the myths , presumptions and facts about obesity is that obesity is

Defining Obesity

Overweight and obesity are defined by the WHO as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to an individuals health.

Although obesity by itself is not considered a disease, it is more of a medical condition due to the complication that arise as a result of obesity and lowered life expectancy in many obese individuals due to these complications.

So the question arises, can anyone become obese?

Nobody is born obese, but it is possible for anyone to turn obese. However obesity seems to affect some people more than others as it develops because of an imbalance between the calories between the calories that are eaten and the calories that are expended through physical activity.

The scientist stated some myths, that even I , as a thin deprived person, agree with:

small things make a big difference. Walking a mile a day, can lead to a loss of more than 50 pounds in five years. Set realistic goals to lose a modest amount. People who are to ambitious will get frustrated and give up. You have to be mentally ready to diet or u will never succeed. Slow and steady is the way u loose.

He even went on, to state some facts:

Heredity is important but it is not destiny.

exercise helps with weight maintainance.

weight loss is greater with programs that provides meals.

some prescription drugs help with weight loss and maintainance

Weight loss surgery in appropriate patients can lead to a long term weight loss, less diabetes and a lower death rate.

This scientist was so bold n had the courage to say that if physical education was reintroduced to school not all the children would lose weigh! That was another myth!

He e ven did test and research on his own for the funding was to costly for the university, and he says that these were all myths. He did a test and the results were phenomenal,  the thinner people were the group that had breakfast. He had  3 groups of people, one group had breakfast, the other group didn’t and the 3rd group did as they so desired.

He strongly recommended the weight loss surgery! Truth be told, if its not in ur mind, to lose the few extra pounds, then u won’t! If however u do like me, and embrace ur body for what it is shaped as, then like would be such a happier ire place for u!
